What makes you unique?
My passion, determination and self assuredness are what make me unique. The passion I possess helps me to develop a sense of commitment to whatever goal I am trying to achieve while my determination aids me in staying focused on the task at hand. Most importantly though, my self assuredness enables me to know precisely where I am going so instead of being pulled in so many directions by people or circumstances, I choose my path and trudge on through it.
Where are you from? If you were to use two adjectives that describe your community and which also describes you as a person, what would the adjectives be?
I am from Key’s Village. Two adjectives that describe me and my village are beautiful and peaceful
To whom you attribute you success (es) in life thus far?
First and foremost I have to thank the father above for the inspiration and joy he’s brought me in pursuit of my goals. For every goal I’ve accomplished so far, I’ve realized it was made possible through him. Secondly, a great deal of what I have succeeded in so far is attributed to my loving mother. She’s has always encouraged me whenever I seemed ready to give up. She has always provided that shoulder to cry on and that ear to listen when I needed someone to talk to. When I was younger I never quite understood why she did certain things, but I do now and I’m grateful.
What do you hope to gain by participating in a pageant of this nature?
By participating in this type of pageant I will be able to showcase my talents and ensure that all of my performances reflect who we are as a people. Attaining 25 yrs of independence means a lot to me as I’m sure it does for everyone, so I’m dedicating my overall performance to every Kittitian and Nevisian both home and abroad in the hope that it will inspire everyone to look towards a brighter future.
What does independence mean to you on a personal level?
Independence means a lot to me. A great sense of national pride overcomes me knowing that St.Kitts –Nevis is truly independent. No longer does St. Kitts - Nevis “somewhat” belong to us, no longer are we “somewhat” free from colonial rule; St. Kitts Nevis is undoubtedly ours. The mere thought of our independence strengthens my self worth and self assuredness as like my country I now control my growth, my potential and my destiny.
What other significant achievements would you like to see in the federation over the next 25 years?
I would like to see the country become more commercialized with our local entrepreneurs leading the way. I hope there is increased economic growth. Improving our tourism sector is very important to me as well. However, I would really love if the economy becomes more diversified for the global market is ever growing and ever changing. So the more products and services we have to offer the better positioned we are to face the many challenges.
