CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - JAZZ and Reggae music lovers have cause to look forward to next Sunday, July 13 when Jazz Reggae Vibes, a high profile show, will be staged at the Sunset Beach Club.

The show, scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., is hosted by proprietors of the Sunset Beach Club and Esther Brookes of Her Best Production.

Brookes, an international fashion designer and acclaimed drama director, said in an interview that she was prompted to organise the show because of her love for the Arts. “Without music, drama, poetry and dance people would be like trees in the Sahara Desert. Combining these entertainment genres was intended to reach all people.

There are those who love jazz, others love reggae, some love poetry and others love dance,” she said.

What began as a “little jazz” done in reggae style, has now maximised to a full blown Arts Festival. Brooks promises that there would be “tight security” and nothing would be left to chance. She also stated that the show would begin on time and warned late-comers that they might miss their favorite act.

Gracing the stage will be: Pauline Jean Quartet (Jazz) of New York; Friends & Company (Music), Lloyd Williams (Saxophone), Santoy Barrett (Trombone) and D’Origine Bailarine (Dance), all of whom are from Nevis;  Zambai (Reggae) of Antigua; St. Kitts’ C-Jay, Jade Orchid,  Sudiepop,  Jah Fire, C-Money, Creighton Pencheon (Poet), Ras Eli  X and Okolo Tegremantine Arts Theatre (Dance);  Adrian ‘Amenyama’ Green (Poem) of Barbados and Tafari Ayinde of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“Each performer has professional experience and knows their craft. Though some are very young they have been singing since they were children, so the stage isn’t new to them. The show promises to be great and I look forward to people coming out to support what can now be called an Arts Festival,” Brooks stated.

For further information, call Esther Brooks at 665-8636. Media houses are requested to indicate their interest to participate by emailing the name(s) of their representative(s) by Wednesday to inot_95@yahoo.com.
