Models gear up for Caliente International IV- “Walk of a Vixen”
Guyanese Roger Gary is featured designer…

Nikima Prince

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua - CALIENTE INTERNATIONAL, a fashion show that is in its fifth year, continues to produce the fire it is known for and this year’s event, themed “Walk of a Vixen”, will be no different.

The event will be held at the Multi-Purpose Centre in Antigua on Saturday, June 28.

Rickenson Ettienne, Manager and Director of Insomnia Model Management, the agency that hosts the event, said that this year’s theme was inspired by one of his models, Tenice, who was also last year’s bMobile Model of the Year.

“Walk of a Vixen will be bringing sexy felines to the runway,” Eittienne told The Sun Newspaper recently.
Guyana native Roger Gary will be the featured designer at the event and he has a wealth of experience having being featured on several major fashion shows around the Caribbean and the United States, including Caribbean Fashion Week and BET’s Rip The Runway.

He was also the featured designer at the first ever St. Kitts Fashion Weekend, which featured the likes of Eva Pigford, winner of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) Cycle 3; Jade Cole, a finalist from ANTM; and other international ‘fashionistas’.

Other designers, who will be making their mark at Caliente IV, include Kingsley Thorne of Barbados, Kaisha Peters of St. Maarten, Toni Thorne of Barbados, Shazi Sholong of St. Lucia, Vashti Harlequin of Guyana, Janay Raymond of Anguilla and also local designers, including Ettienne’s Entralique, Jay’s Designs, Y&Y Norton Designs and Francois Bowen, a plus-size designer.

The event will feature over 50 models, including local, regional and international models from Antigua, Barbados and St. Kitts.

The event is said to be also featuring Ebony Models from Barbados, the 2007 North American and Eastern Caribbean Model Search winner, Tanya Griffith, and two surprise models from the US.

This year will also realise the second staging of the bMobile Model of the Year Competition, which will see Ronnie Blaze, Euston Dickenson, Shane Cristoff, Johnny Castro, Silvereen Bryant, Althea Richardson, Nikima Prince, Marie-Ann Rally and Nisa Bryant.

The Thoroughbreds male modelling group from St. Kitts and Nevis is also expected to participate in this year’s event.
