CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – A group of students got together and decided to host a pageant to mark the 35th Anniversary of the Gingerland Secondary School.
The organisers, who call themselves Urban Roots Production Gingerland Junior Achievers, are a group of students from Form 4A2 who are destined to make themselves known at the school and in the community.
The pageant is being held under the leadership of student Rondee Pinney, who is also the Chairperson of the Anniversary Show Committee.
Pinney told SKNVibes that plans are unfolding smoothly and is appealing to the public to support the school and the contestants.
“We have five beautiful contestants, I promise you that. It won’t be boring or drawn out. It will be very entertaining and classy,” she said.
Miss Boddie’s Construction Clayticia Daniel will represent Form 1A1, Miss F&F Transportation Hydeia Tyson will represent Form 2A2

and Miss One Coco Trucking Services Shariesa Sutton will represent Form 3A1. Vikelia Hicks of Form 4A2 and Deslyn Dore of Form 5A2 are sponsored by the Hon. Carlisle Powell and Hon. Vance Amory respectively.
The contestants will make appearances in Introductory Speech, Talent and Creative Caribbean Formal Wear.
The show, which will be held on the grounds of the Gingerland Primary School, will take place on Saturday July 12 from 7:00 p.m.
Admission for the show is $10 for students and $20 for adults.
Five of the nation’s youth were the recipients of high school scholarships from the St. Christopher & Nevis Social Security Board distributed Monday (Sept. 3) at the statutory body’s headquarters on the Bay Road.The beneficiaries, Shequan Bolus, Evah Barzey, Nehemiah Lawrence, Tassim Carty and Javed Isaac are all Primary school graduates who enrolled in the Verchilds, Washington Archibald, Cayon, Sandy Point and Basseterre High Schools this past Monday for the start of the new school year.
