BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE lifeless body of a partly nude female teenager was discovered shortly after 3:00 p.m. today (Apr. 3) lying on the eastern side of the building that houses Eustace Hobson & Associates in the C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site area.

Dead is 15-year-old Unique Browne of Wellington Road, Basseterre.

According to Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Inspector Franklyn Belgrove, police received a report at about 3:10 p.m. that a lifeless body of a female was seen on the premises of Eustace Hobson & Associates.

“Members of the CID and the Special Services Unit responded immediately, and on arrival at the scene found the partly nude body of a young female, identified as Unique Browne of West Basseterre, lying on the eastern side of the building.

“The District Medical Officer, Dr. Reginald O’Loughlin was summoned to the scene and he pronounced her dead. The Coroner was contacted and gave permission for the body to be removed to Jenkins Funeral Home,” Belgrove said.

He also said that the body bore signs of violence, as blood was seen on the head and the upper region of the chest, but “we are unsure if she was shot or if the wounds were inflicted by an instrument. However, the post mortem will reveal what caused her death”.

This media house was reliably informed that Browne was seen last night at Mension’s ‘Earthday Bash’ held at Club Kactus, but the source claimed they did not see when she left the party.

Inspector Belgrove further said that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Browne’s death has been the fourth murder recorded in the twin-island Federation for the year.

The first was that of Devon Morton of Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peters, who died at the JNF Hospital 15 days after he was shot by two masked gunmen in Mc Knight on the night of Monday, January 10.

The second murder was that of Sean ‘Tegroman’ Brazier (38) of Pitcairn Street, Newtown, who was shot multiple times to the body sometime after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5.

And the third was that of 29-year-old Quincy Liburd of Newcastle, Nevis, who was shot multiple times to the body in Conaree on Sunday, March 13.

To date, no one has been arrested in connection with these murders but police stated that investigations are ongoing.
