By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A professor of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine died earlier this evening (Aug. 3) while jogging along the Dr. Kennedy Simmonds Highway in the South East Peninsula, St. Kitts.

According to reports reaching this media house, shortly after 6:00 p.m., the 62-year-old man was jogging and collapsed on the Highway in the vicinity of Timothy Hill. A female passerby stopped and rendered assistance to the professor but failed in her bid to keep him alive.

On arrival of a unit from the Emergency Medical Services, Technicians were unable to find any sign of life and he was later pronounced dead after examination by District Medical Officer Dr. Mervin Laws.

According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry, “There were no marks of violence on the body; therefore, foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.”

Unconfirmed reports indicated that the professor suffered a heart attack.
