BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE wife of local businessman and co-host of WINN FM’s radio show “Technologique – TechSperts On Call”, Kachi Armony, was killed in The Bahamas last Friday.

TaGia Soles-Armony was reportedly killed when an unknown assailant shot her to the left side of her body while she was within a parked car in the vicinity of her relatives’ home.

According to a release from The Bahamas Police Force’s Press Officer, Assistant Superintendent Walter Evans, “Sometime around 8:00 p.m. on Friday 7th August 2009, a 29-year-old Bahamian woman who resides in St. Kitts went to her relatives home, located through Sea Grape Avenue located in the Seabreeze Estates area, in a white 2008 Honda Accord, accompanied by her three-month-old son and two girls ages 12 and 17 years old respectively.

“As the driver was parked in front of the home, the two girls went to knock at the front door of the relatives’ home. It was during this time when a gunman approached the car and fired from a weapon causing injury to the left side of the body of the 29-year-old female. The injured woman was found in a lifeless state after she drove a short distance away through the named street and rear-ended a parked Nissan Sentra and causing damage to two other parked vehicles.”

The release also stated that a man was seen leaving the area in a vehicle shortly after the report of the gunshot was heard.

It further stated that the two girls and the infant were unharmed, and “the police are asking the public to assist in helping to find the person responsible for taking the life of this young female”.

Assistant Superintendent Evans declared that the police are not in a position at this time to state the motive for the killing, but an intensive investigation was launched.

TaGia Soles-Armony was the mother of two children (two-year-old and three-month-old sons) and the daughter-in-law of Larry and Jacqueline Armony of the Brimstone Hill National Park Society and the St. Christopher Heritage Society respectively.
