Serenade of the Seas makes first of 12 calls to Port Zante

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 17TH 2009 (CUOPM) – The Royal Caribbean International (RCI) Serenade of the Seas cruised into St. Kitts’ Port Zante Tuesday morning on its first call of the 2009/2010 Cruise Ship Season.

The 90,000-tonne ship, which has a capacity of 2,500-passengers, arrived from St. Croix with 2,172 passengers on board. It departs later in the afternoon for Roseau, Dominica.

The Serenade of the Seas is scheduled to make 11 more visits to St. Kitts during current cruise ship season.

Three other Royal Caribbean International (RCI) ships are scheduled to visit St. Kitts this season. They are the Grandeur of the Seas, Explorer of Seas and Vision of the Seas.

Another ship making its first visit to St. Kitts this week was the 77,713-ton Celebrity Mercury, which berthed at Port Zante on Sunday.
 
The Bahamas-registered Celebrity is to make a total of 10 visits to St. Kitts during the 2009/2010 cruise ship season. Two sister ships of the Mercury – the Solstice and the Equinox – are also scheduled to visit St. Kitts this season.

The parade of ships continues on Wednesday with the arrival of the 400-capacity Silver Shadow and the 2,450-passenger capacity, Millennium.

The 2,388-passenger Ocean 2 and the 3,473-passenger Carnival Victory dock at Port Zante on Saturday.
