~~Adz:Left~~ Residents are asked to keep a keen eye out for vandals who are using graffiti to deface sporting facilities and mar the aesthetics of various communities.

Local companies T.D.C. and David Coury Co. Ltd. recently assisted the Department of Sport by donating several gallons of paint to remove inappropriate markings from the Victoria Road wall of Warner Park, the island’s main sporting facility.

The donations were made last week and were put to immediate use as crews worked feverishly to cover the graffiti.

“We continue to ask residents to help us protect the expensive facilities that were built to develop young people and expand the sports tourism industry,” a government official said. “Vandalism is not limited to destroying property but also includes graffiti and we want community members to help us discourage these mischievous acts.”

As graffiti falls under the category of vandalism, perpetrators are warned that there are very stiff penalties for anyone caught in this act.

The official expressed appreciation to T.D.C. and David Coury Ltd for their timely assistance.
