BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 11TH 2005
    - Newly-appointed Chairman of the St. Christopher Air Sea Ports Authority, Mr. Linkon Maynard said the new Board of Directors is firmly committed to meet the enormous challenge of executing the mandate set by the Minister of Finance, Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas.
As part of that mandate, the Board of Directors is acutely aware of the pivotal role that the Port Authority must play in the economic development of our Island and Federation as a whole. We are also very cognisant that new and innovative strategies would have to be employed to tackle and solve the serious challenges with which we are confronted, said Maynard in his first message as Board Chairman in SCASPA Sunrise - the Staff Newsletter of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority.

The new Chairman said it will take the tireless efforts of all at the Port to ensure the realisation of its goals and each worker at the Port must play his or her role in the task of restructuring and re-organising the resources to ensure a solid foundation for the future.

The January-July issue of SCASPA Sunrise highlights the recently held 8th Annual General Meeting of the Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC), the upcoming 12th Annual Florida- Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), the untimely death of its Board Member, Mr. Hubert Phipps, the implementation of a new Ferry Schedule by the Department of Maritime Affairs, the New Years Dinner and Talent Show and its Sports Club fun filled weekend in Jamaica.

The Board Members of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority are Dr. Louisa Lawrence, Secretary; Mr. Uklin Richardson, Mr. Curtis Martin, Mrs. Anne Wigley, Mr. Geoffrey Hanley, Ms. Carolyn Adams, Mr. Arthur Williams, Ms. Shirley Skerritt, Mr. Peter Douglas and Ms. Karen Hughes.

SCASPA Sunrise also announces the appointment of Mrs. Rhyllis Vasquez as Head of the Human Resources Division; Ms. Gloria Esdaille as Human Resources Manager; Ernest Robinson as Senior Projects Officer and Ms. Julita Lawrence as Assistant Accountant.

Several transfers and appointments include Jasmine Williams as Senior Clerk, Rotation and Equalisation; Maurice Mills as Senior Metrological Officer, Charlene Williams, Senior Accounts Clerk; Bertram McMahon, Supervisor, Maintenance; Latara Bradshaw, Clerk, Accounts and Statistics and Shakimo Liburd and Arillie Pemberton, Cashier, Finance and Statistics.
