Peoples Labour Party members attend church service at Antioch Baptist Church

By: (PLP), Press Release

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS,March 19, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.)-- Founding members, supporters and well-wishers of the Peoples Labour Party (PLP) Sunday (March 19) congregated at the Antioch Baptist Church in the Village, West Basseterre, ahead of the party’s inaugural National Convention that will be held on Saturday March 25.

Led by Political Leader Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, who is also the Federation’s Prime Minister, the PLP contingent joined the regular congregants and were welcomed by Senior Pastor Lincoln Connor. They were joined by Senior Minister in Team Unity administration, and Premier of Nevis, the Hon Vance Amory.

“I am much impressed by the turnout today and we want to give God thanks for that,” said Political Leader Dr Harris after the church service.“It is good that the start of an important week for the Peoples Labour Party we will come to God, the Author and Creator of all things, and to say ‘thank you’ and recognise His omniscience and omnipotence at this time.”

Present also included PLP’s Deputy Chairman Mr Craig Tuckett, Members of the National Executive, Senator the Hon Akilah Byron-Nisbett, His Excellency Ambassador Michael Powell, and Permanent Secretary in Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Osbert DeSuza.

“So we are grateful and as we move from strength to strength, I think we have the right beginning and as a result we will end well,” commented PLP’s Political Leader. “I want to thank all those of our supporters who turned out in support at short notice.”

He observed that when the National Executive met last Thursday (March 16) the idea was floated that as they hold the inaugural National Convention which takes place on Saturday March 25 on the playground of the Edgar T. Morris Primary School, that they come together and worship together.

“So I want to thank all the founding members and all the supporters who came out and in particular to record appreciation to Premier of Nevis, the Hon Vance Amory for attending,” concluded the party’s Political Leader.

According to PLP’s Deputy Chairman, Mr Craig Tuckett, Senior Pastor Lincoln Connor of the Antioch Baptist Church gave an inspirational message of encouragement and guidance as it relates to the expectations of the leaders in government and what is needed for party to do to ensure the service to people and the mandate of good governance is the thing.

“Led by our political Leader Dr the Hon Timothy Harris we attended a wonderful God-filled spiritual service with Senior Pastor Connor. We had a large turnout of persons from the party, members, supporters and well-wishers, and it was glorious day at the beginning of activities which will culminate with inaugural National Convention on Saturday 25th March in Tabernacle Village.”
