BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - SKNVibes has confirmed that coming out a meeting of the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) held on Sunday (Mar.19), the executive branch of the party has been nominated with the Hon. Mark Brantley heading the list as the nominee to lead the organisation.

This media house understands that the meeting was held at the Party’s Headquarters at Government Road, Nevis.

Initial attempts to contact Deputy Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Brantley were without success. He however returned the call and when asked about the nomination talk, he said he is not in any position to confirm anything at that point.

“The party is in a process and when that process is complete, the party would speak to the public…”

An informed source told SKNVibes however, that Brantley was nominated by the Hon. Alexis Jeffers to function as Leader of the Party and Jeffers was nominated by Brantley to be the Deputy.

Nominated as Chairperson of the party is the Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, Keith Scarborough has been nominated to serve as Deputy Chairperson, Lorna Hunkins was nominated for the Secretary position and for the Treasurer position, Oscar Walters has been nominated.

Members of the CCM are scheduled to meet in caucus on Sunday (Mar. 26) at the Mount Nevis Hotel, where the process of ratifying these nominations, as well as making and ratifying other nominations for other positions, would take place.

Should these be ratified, Brantley would replace Premier of Nevis the Hon. Vance Amory who has served as Party Leader for 30 years, the Hon. Jeffers would succeed Brantley as Deputy Leader and Brandy-William would succeed Steadman Tross as the Party’s Chairperson.

Attempts to contact the Hon. Amory were futile.

This shuffle comes as the party is preparing itself to contest the Local Elections which are due next year.

It is suggested in some quarters that Brantley is the fittest candidate to lead the party.
