BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Dr. Blake Dental Clinic continues to do its part in ensuring the development of the sport of golf within the Federation and its popularity continues to grow.
Only recently, the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club hosted its Monthly Medal tournament which saw the participation of approximately 40 individuals.
This event was sponsored by Dr. Blake Dental Clinic, as has been the case for the past two years.
Participants were engaged in friendly competition in the Super Seniors, Seniors, Men, Women and Juniors categories.
And in addition to walking away from the competition with bragging rights, the winners received a number of prizes including $200-vouchers to be put towards having any procedure offered by the Clinic.
Speaking with SKNVibes about his company’s sponsorship of the tournament, Dr. Ravi Chinnaswamy explained that participation in golf helps to sharpen the minds of individuals.
“Golf is a mind game and it would help develop analytical skills. It teaches people how to reason and solve problems. The game is all about how quickly you can get the ball into the hole and for that you need to use your mind.
‘Dr. Ravi’ – as he is popularly known, said this year’s sponsorship of golf tournament is especially significant as Dr. Blake Dental Clinic celebrates its 25th year of existence.
Dr. Ravi – who took control of the business in 2012 – said it gives back to the community in a number of ways including free dental care for the residents of the Children’s Home and sponsorship of sport teams.
And the willingness to deepen community ties exists, he informed, noting that once a worthy cause is brought to his attention for sponsorship, the process of review and consideration would begin.
Acknowledging the impossibility of helping everyone, Dr. Ravi said there are particular interests in sports, the elderly, children and churches “or anything that helps the community”.
As for the sponsorship of the golf tournament, Dr. Ravi expressed his wish for that to continue.
