BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A fifth form student of the Basseterre High School has gone missing and her parent is calling for the public’s assistance in locating her.
The 17-year-old student’s name was given as Leanna Napoleon and she was last seen by family members yesterday morning (May 8) when she left for her CSEC EDPM exam at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.
An emotional Yvette Greaux - adopted mother of the teen – told this publication that she last saw her daughter yesterday shortly after 7:00 a.m. when she left for work.
Greaux said that shortly after leaving home, Napoleon’s adopted sister took her to the College for her exam, and that was the last time they saw her.
“When I left home she was ready for school because she had her first exam, which was EDPM up at the College. So my daughter drove she and my other daughter up at the College because they are both in fifth form.”
The mother noted that this is the first time that the girl has gone missing.
“Yesterday I went to a funeral and when I got home I met my daughter home, and when I enquired about her she said that she hasn’t reach home as yet. So I kept calling her and it kept going to voice mail,” Greaux explained.
A highly emotional Greaux indicated that a report was made to the police station around 2:00 a.m. today and, subsequent to that, officers had made calls to her to investigate the matter.
“Since we realised that she was missing, we drove around to her friends. The pastor and my daughter went to the hospital to check all the wards to ensure that she wasn’t admitted,” she explained.
The mother noted that many of Napoleon’s friends had indicated that they last saw her after the exam.
According to information reaching SKNVibes, the teen was last reportedly seen in the Buckley’s area.
The teen’s mother is pleading for her safe return.
