BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MEMBERS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) are currently investigating two separate incidents that occurred last night (May 17) in St. Paul’s Village, which have left two young men suffering gunshot injuries.

Information reaching SKNVibes states while sitting on his verandah in Rawlins Housing, St. Paul’s Village some time around 10:00 p.m., a juvenile was approached by an unknown gunman who fired a single shot in his direction before running from the scene.

Reportedly, the bullet had grazed the juvenile's head and he was transported by a unit of the Emergency Medical Services for treatment at the JNF General Hospital.

A police communiqué has confirmed this shooting incident and another also in St. Paul’s Village.

Additional information received by this publication states that while members of the VCU were investigating the first incident, they responded to a report that a shooting victim was at the Pogson Hospital in Sandy Point.

The communiqué said that initial investigations revealed the victim stated that while walking in the vicinity of a shop in St. Paul’s Village, he was attacked by two masked assailants and was twice shot – his shoulder and his right side.

He, too, was transported to the JNF General Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

The victim’s name was given to SKNVibes as Raheem Chapman.

Investigations into these incidents are ongoing.
