Police Press Release 07-06-2017: Report Of Arrests, Convictions And Other Activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 7, 2017 a period (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 3rd – 5th 2017. 

     

    Arrested: Alston Phillips of Hamilton Estate was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Larceny and Receiving.  
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS: 

    In Matters at the District "B" Magistrate Court the following convictions were recorded: 

    -Livingston Carey of Rawlins Housing Project  St Paul's who was charged with the following offences, failure to stop when accident occurred, driving without Insurance, driving without licence, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without valid and unexpired licence and  driving without due care and attention committed on Sunday 21st January 201,  pleaded guilty on all charges and was fined $200 ECD on each charge payable by Friday 30th June 2017 and if in default to serve thirty (30) days in prison at hard labour.  

    -Kurtlyn Walters alias “Chef” also of Back Way Sandy Point who was charged with the following offences, abusive language and insulting language, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on each charge to thirty (30) days in prison at hard labour. 
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY
    Abandoned Properties: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties; most recent searches were done in following area: McKnight, two abandoned houses were search for illegal drugs, guns and stolen items. 
     
    Building Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a report of Building Breaking and Larceny at Ponteen's Metal Craft, Ponds Pasture V/C reported that he secured his business place at about 19:00hrs on Thursday 1st June 2017 and upon his returned at about 06:45 the following day he discovered his place broken into and several items missing. Investigations are ongoing.
     
    House Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a report of a House Breaking and Larceny at College Street, Ghaut. V/C reported that he secured his house at about 7:50 p.m  and went to a friend’s upon his return the following day on Monday 5th June 2017 he walked through the Alley where he lives he saw a male individual wearing a black short pant and a black T-Shirt mark Florida at the front, he walked passed him carrying a white table model gas stove but did not pay it any attention. When he arrived home it was discovered the western, wooden, front door of his house that was left secured with a padlock, closed but unlocked and the padlock was met laying on the step to his house. He entered his house and observed that the inside was ransacked and a large amount of cash was missing, a large amount of clothing and shoes and a white table model gas stove with gas tank missing. The Complainant was unable to give a value for the missing items at the time reporting. The Scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit. A search was done in the College Street and Nevis Street areas for the person described and the missing items but they were not found. Investigation into this matter continues.
     
    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following area: Hamilton Estate, Mad House Alley, Buckley’s and Willetts Housing Project (St. Paul’s).
     
    Traffic Accidents: There were Seven (7) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways (4) in St. Kitts and (3) in Nevis during the period of this report. 
     
    Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Searches along the island main road on St. Kitts and Nevis. Officers continue to conduct searches of abandoned properties and lots. The execution of search warrants continue as well. These activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.
