Police Press Release 08-06-2017: Report Of Arrests, Convictions And Other Activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 8, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period 06-07 June, 2017. 

     

    Arrested/Bailed: Eriberto Lorenzo of Roxborough Street, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving motor car without Insurance on Wednesday, June 07.   He was granted bail in  the sum of $5,000. for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on the July 6. 
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    Building Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a report of a Building Breaking and Larceny at the Metal Craft Shop, which is located at Morris Paul Drive Ponds Pasture. The V/C reported that he secured his business on Saturday (June 4) and upon returning to the business on Tuesday (June 6) discovered the building broken into.  A number of items were taken.   The Scene was by the Crime Scene Unit. A search was conducted in the nearby surroundings for the missing items but nothing was found. Investigations to be continued. 
     
    Abandoned Properties: Police conducted a number of abandoned property searches in the following areas, Stapleton's Village, McKnight, St. Pauls and Cotton Ground.  
     
    Robbery: Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Chinese Supermarket in St Johnson Village.  The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: A combined patrol of men of the Anti-Narcotics Unit and members of SKNDF reported that they uprooted four hundred and eighty (480) marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to two (2) feet in height in the Newton Ground area.  No one was held accountable for find.  
     
    Traffic Accidents: There were a number of accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts during the period of this report. 
     
    Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Searches along the island main road on St. Kitts and Nevis. Officers continue to conduct searches of abandoned properties and lots. The execution of search warrants continue as well. These activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.    
     
    School Liaison Officers continue to conduct school visits to all primary and secondary schools across the Federation. The visits are done to foster better relationships with the school administration and students.
