BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DESPITE playing much more improved game yesterday (Jun. 7), the St. Kitts-Nevis national men’s football team went under to Georgia 3-nil to end their second European tour winless.

Coming off a 5-nil drubbing by Armenia, St. Kitts and Nevis played positive football, even once finding the back of the net only for the goal to be disallowed because of a foul that seemed non-existent.

That however led to Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Giorgi Arabidze opening the scoring in the 52nd minute.

He followed up with another in the 73rd minute through the penalty route.

Georgia’s forward Vladimer Dvaslishvili added a third goal in the 81stminute.

Speaking with local station WINN FM after the game, captain Thrizen Leader informed that “bad decisions” contributed to the home side being able to score against their defence.

“We played against tough opponents who were tougher to break down. It was about being unlucky on certain decisions why we conceded so many goals in the two games we played.”

He commended the players for the way they performed, noting that they played against tougher opponents and the “guys did fairly well”.

“It also shows that our football has some ways to grow if we need to compete against these bigger nations,” he told WINN FM.

On their first trip to Europe in 2015, the Sugar Boyz won one game and loss one.

That victory saw the local team jumping up the FIFA ranking to one of its highest achievements - 73rd in the world.
