Father’s Day

By: Bertram Charles

    Scripture: Proverbs 22: Verse 6

Good men make good fathers. The WORD of the Lord command fathers as follows, but not limited to: Love the Lord, our God, with all their heart, soul, strength and by walking in His ways.

Instruct their children to fear God, obey His laws, statutes, precepts and enjoy a long life. Educate their children in morality, integrity, honesty, probity, dignity, character, ethics, principle and goodness.

The schools and other institutions do not teach children the above virtues.

Talk to their children about these virtues at home, at meal time, when you take a walk in the streets, write them down on the door posts of your house, when you go to the park and beach, when you lie down to sleep and when you arise in the morning.

Teach their children obedience, respect, responsibility and accountability in all their ways who would tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord. Do not make their children angry by the way you treat them but bring them up with the discipline and instruction approved by the Lord and not to provoke and aggravate your children to discourage them.

To give love, advise, correct, educate, motivate, discipline and chastise your children without anger; to create a strong bond between fathers and their children all the days of their lives in a society when the elderly are left to die in loneliness and despair; to produce well-adjusted children despite the prevailing wickedness; to love and respect their mother.

“Train up your children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it.”
