BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CURRENT and prospective customers of furniture and electronics giant COURTS can now benefit from a new sales initiative that the company officially launched yesterday morning (Jun. 16) in St. Kitts.
The initiative - ‘Sales Financing’- sees COURTS partnering with at least eight other companies thus far to allow customers to purchase any item on sale at those business establishments without making any payment.
COURTS would make the full purchase payment on behalf of the customer, who would then repay the company through an instalment scheme – just like the existing hire purchase plan, Credit Manager Janice Charles told SKNVibes.
“You are able to go in and have your items booked and COURTS would take on that responsibility of paying for the items while they in turn pay us at COURTS.
“The initiative basically is that they walk into the store, the customer let us know what they are interested in. We receive the information from them [partnering stores] and then we would in turn let them know if the person reaches the credit criteria. We would in turn deliver the goods to the customer and we would pay the company and the customer pays COURTS.”
She explained that the initiative is open to new and existing customers of the establishment, adding that one does not need to have an account with the company to be part of the initiative.
The procedure is in place for them to fill out the application right at that establishment, she disclosed, pointing out that in some cases it may take a few days for persons to get approval while those with accounts at her company could be approved within minutes.
“It takes a process,” she said. “They would have to interact with us and then we would determine the timeframe that it would take for them to get it. In some cases, they can walk out with it the same day and in some cases it can be a half hour.”
Speaking on the rationale behind the new initiative, Charles explained that it is part of the company reinventing itself as they have already released a number of other products in recent time.
