Young artiste launches new single and video

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – NOT yet a household name, Rashaun Bass is slowly developing his brand of music, and over the last weekend he released yet another song in his growing armoury.

His song, ‘Woman Crush’, which was released to the public at Boozies Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip, was well received.

According to Bass, the song has a “summer feel to it” but noted that it is a simple piece of work with the video, which has some sexual content to it.

“We are trying to attract people from around the region and not only St. Kitts people to get entangled with the new vibes that I am bringing. I am more into Rap and people know me for that, so this is something new,” he explained.

Speaking with SKNVibes, Bass said there was no need for him to change from Rap to Pop or Reggae genre, but he is looking to add something different to lyrical settings.

The young man is being managed by popular pharmacist Romeo Parris, who is connected to the Kactus Entertainment.

The jovial Bass intimated that he loves Rap music and pointed out that it would be popular with many persons overseas, but he wants to establish his brand locally before venturing abroad.

“So, since we have to dance a yard before we dance abroad, we have to catch the ears of the people and show that we are really talented.”

An excited Parris told this publication that he had taken the advice given by some local journalists for the video production and had his protégé make the necessary changes before it was released to the public.

He explained that before making the changes, the distributor in Germany was also impressed with the product.

“I like what is there now; the beat is a bit slow which is suited for Europe and those people who love a slower tone.

“I think he has done a good transition from Rap into Reggae. And as you would recognize, there is now a trend in the US where there is a fusion between Reggae and Rap, especially when you look at Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. So, definitely the two in one plus...yes,” the promoter said.

Though Parris disclosed that the young artiste has much talent, he indicated that he is not going to pushing him too early.

Parris declared that an official launch of Rashaun Bass, better known as RB the Mayor, would be done some time in the coming weeks.
