BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO individuals had sustained injuries 10 minutes apart in separate shooting incidents on Friday (Jun. 23) in St. Kitts.
According to a police communiqué, members of the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) and officer of the Cayon Police Station are investigating a shooting incident that occurred about 8:50 p.m. on the day in question in Upper Cayon.
Initial investigations revealed that a 28-year-old male was shot by an unknown assailant while walking in that area.
Police reported that the victim was transported to the JNF General Hospital but, so far, no one has been taken into custody for the offence.
Members of the VCU and officers of officers of ‘B’ Division are also investigating a shooting incident that occurred during a robbery at about 9:00 p.m. on the same day in Halfway Tree.
The incident resulted in injuries to a male, who was also taken to the JNF General Hospital.
Similar to the Upper Cayon shooting incident, no suspect was taken into custody.
According to the communiqué, both scenes were processed by the Forensin Services Unit and investigations are ongoing.
