Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 24, 2017 (HMPS): A gift of computers on Friday (July 21) to Her Majesty's Prison by RAZO Construction will be used by residents participating in the institution's Educational Programs in the newly built Learning Resource Center at Her Majesty's Prison.
In a brief ceremony at the RAZO compound on the South Eastern Peninsula, RAZO CEO David Di Reinzo and Vice President Ryan Mangrum presented the gifts to Deputy Prime Minister, the Honourable Shawn Richards.
The RAZO leadership shared the company’s dedication and commitment to “positively changing the world” and utilizing the local workforce to achieve its business initiative. He also stated that the company, in efforts to assist the government with its rehabilitation programmes intends to continue to hire former prisoners in order for them to earn an honest living.
Superintendent Junie Hodge accompanied by a group of Officers thanked RAZO for its gifts to the prison, He noted that they will greatly assist with the rehabilitation programme through the education of the “residents” (inmates) to better reintegrate them back into society. Superintendent Hodge also highlighted the computers and a gift of chairs to be delivered at a later date, will be in the Learning Resource Centre, a space he said was built by inmates in the Prison Construction Trades Program.
The donation by RAZO Construction was initiated by Andre Phipps, a.k.a. “Magic Man” a local Radio personality.
