Kajola Kristada hosts Theatre Camp for employees children

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- POPULAR manufacturing company, Kajola Kristada recently wrapped up a two-week Theatre Summer Camp for its employees’ children.

The Camp, which focused on acting, was spearheaded by 17-year-old Gustavo Rosa, who was recruited by the company to put together the activity.

General Manager Jose Rosa explained that they have been exploring the option of having a summer camp for many years, and this year they got the opportunity to host a theatre camp.

The company had brought in the young man to assist them with organizing the two-week activity.

General Manager Rosa shared his opinion on the two-week camp.

“It was an amazing camp for the children; it was magical! The children were very engaged in the programme. They were able to recreate different scenes and it was very entertaining.”

Gustavo told SKNVibes that he was recruited to bring workshops for children of the employees or their families.

During the workshop, the children were engaged in the basics of theatre, the young man told SKNVibes.

“They can use these basic skills in their everyday life. So if they don’t end up being actors, they can still use the things they learnt in the camp for everyday activities.”

He pointed out that the children have responded positively to what they were taught, including the dynamics and strategies that were relayed to them.

The Kajola Kristada GM stated that next year they would strive to have a bigger programme by exploring the possibility of having children from outside the organization participating.
