New Road Chinese Supermarket robbed again

By: Jermine Abel, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REPORTS reaching SKNVibes indicate that a Chinese Supermarket in the New Road Housing area was again robbed, this time by two armed, masked men.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 6), the two men stormed David Lee Supermarket and robbed it of an undisclosed sum of cash.

The police have not yet confirmed or denied the incident.

When SKNVibes contact the Basseterre Police Station, no officer was present in the Public Relations Office to comment on the incident.

However, a video that was circulating on social media, alleged to be that of the incident, showed two men storming the supermarket while a man was held at gunpoint as they took an undisclosed sum of money from the cash register.

One of the perpetrators was seen frequently looking out as he pointed a gun in the direction of the male Chinese cashier.

At one point in the video, which was just under two minutes, the two perpetrators held the cashier at gunpoint as they searched his person.

In May last year, it was reported that the same establishment was robbed of close to $10,000.
