BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 2, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Order of play on Thursday August 31 in the seventh round of the round-robin stage of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition appeared to favour the two teams from outside the constituency.

In its 22nd edition, a record number fourteen teams are taking part in the competition this year. Twelve of the teams are from Constituency Number Seven which is represented in parliament by Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, who is the sponsor of the league.

However two of the participating teams, Parsons and Saddlers, are from the neighbouring Constituency Number Six. The sponsor, who is also the National Political Leader of the Peoples Labour Party (PLP) one of the three parties in the ruling Team Unity Administration, has always extended a hand of friendship to these two teams.

On Thursday the two had the uniqueness of home advantage and it was hoped that they would utilise that advantage. Parsons went up against the visiting Tabernacle at Rousey’s Place on Main Street in Parsons while Saddlers entertained Giants of Lodge Village at Shanty Bar in Saddlers.

Captain Jason ‘Spoon’ Nisbett of Tabernacle was not moved by the vocal support the home team received from the vociferous support of a handful local resident. Captain Elvis Norford of the home team appeared unsettled when he exchanged his hot seat with player Melvin Gumbs.

Tabernacle carried the evening with a convincing and thorough beating of the home team 13-7. That was not the case with the other visiting team in Constituency Number Six. Giants were handed down a 7-13 beating by the home team Saddlers.

Two game venues were on the spotlight on Thursday evening as when the battling players were in action, sponsor of the league and Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr the Hon Timothy Harris paid them an unannounced visit to encourage the players.

The venues were the Domino House in Mansion where the Defending champions and current joint round-robin stage leaders, Unity, beat Christchurch 13-9; and at Small Corner Bar in Lemon Hill Lodge Village where the home team Small Corner run riot over the visiting Guinness beating them 13-5.

In other games, Molineux handed a crushing 13-3 defeat to home team Sylvers at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village; Beers capitalised on the home advantage at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village to upset Upsetters in a close game 13-11; while current joint leaders at the round-robin stage, Lodge, beat Unstoppable 13-7 at the Lodge Community Centre

Games continue on Tuesday September 5 at the following venues: Rousey’s Place on Main Street in Parsons, two games at Bernette Bar Hidden Valley Lodge Village, Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, Domino House in Mansion, Small Corner Bar at Lemon Hill in Lodge Village and at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.
