BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, September 16, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Following a break that was occasioned by the passage of Hurricane Irma, the round-robin stage of the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition resumed on Thursday evening September 14.

There was confusion and some form of drama as one of the top contenders Lodge travelled to Parsons Village for an away game against the home team, but returned with maximum points without pushing a domino piece as the home team, Parsons, was a no show at home.

More drama manifested at Lemon Hill in Lodge Village as the shed used by the home team, Small Corner, had been blown off by Hurricane Irma. They were supposed to meet with Giants and the game was rescheduled to take place at the Molineux Pavilion, where the two teams dutifully assembled.

They however remained outside in the cold as they watched young men practicing basketball and football under floodlights at the Molineux hard courts and play field, as the keys to the pavilion were not available. They finally relocated to Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, where Giants overcame Small Corner 13-11.

Christchurch used their home advantage to beat Unstoppable 13-10 at Domino House in Mansion; and defending champions Unity did likewise at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project where they beat the visiting Saddlers, of Constituency Number Six, 13-9.

Upsetters lived to their name by upsetting Sylvers 13-10 at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Project; visiting Tabernacle beat Beers on their home ground at Bernette Bar, Hidden Valley Lodge Village 13-10; and in the final game, also at Bernette Bar, Molineux narrowly beat Guinness 13-12.

Since next Tuesday September 19 is a public holiday, Independence Day, the ninth round of play in this round robin stage of the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition will take off on Thursday September 21.

According to the league organiser, Mr Calvin Farrell who says he is happy that more spectators are turning out to watch the games, the venues will be the Lodge Community Centre; Mansion Domino House; T-Vil’s Bar in Tabernacle; one of the two venues in Parsons; and the Molineux Pavilion as Small Corner Bar shed at Lemon Hill was destroyed by Hurricane Irma.
