Police Press Release: 17-09-2017: Report of arrest, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 17, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period September 1-17, 2017

     

    ARREST AND BAIL:
    Arrested: Akeem Herbert of Lower Thibou Avenue Basseterre was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of robber, which was committed on 23 August 2017 at Daily Food Supermarket St Johnston Village. 

    Arrested: Curtis Nolan of Parson Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. 
     
    Arrested: Delverne Patrick of Parson Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. 
     
    Arrested: Desi Browne of Taylors Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Simple Wounding. 
     
    Arrested: Tejaune Gumbs of Dieppe Bay Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving without license, Driving without insurance and Driving unlicensed vehicle. 
     
    Arrested: Kenvin Merchant of Clay Ghaut was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of House breaking and Larceny and Receiving. 

    Arrested: Cordwell Chase of Lodge Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. 
     
    Arrested: Shakeem Caesar of West Street Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny. 
     
    Arrested: Ziron Roberts of West Street Newtown was arrested, formally charged and caution for the offence of Larceny.
     
    Arrested: Lindsay Henry of Pond Extension was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny.
     
    Arrested: Kevin Merchant of Clay Ghaut was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Housebreaking and Larceny, and Receiving. 

    Arrested: Ezekiel France of Upper Monkey Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Elex Morris of Temple Alley was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply. He was granted bail in the sum of 10,000.00 for his appearance on the 6th November 2017 at the District “A’ Magistrate’s Court.  

    Arrested/Bailed: Edmondson Browne of Upper Monkey Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000.00 for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on Monday 6th November 2017.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Inshan Mohammed of Pine Garden, Shadwell was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Simple Wounding. He was granted bail in the sum of Five thousand Eastern Caribbean Dollars ($5000.00 ECD) for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 3rd October 2017.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Hemant Parbhu of Stapleton Housing Extension was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Simple Wounding committed. He was granted bail in the sum of Five thousand Eastern Caribbean Dollars ($5000.00 ECD) for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 3rd October 2017.

    Arrested/Bailed: Ivan Edwards of Stapleton Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 7th November, 2017. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Berlin Belle of Old Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to Supply. She was granted bail in the sum of $30,000.00 with for her appearance on the 6th November, 2017 at District “B” Magistrate’s Court.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Jermaine Woodley of Old Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $30,000.00 for his appearance on the 6th November, 2017.

    Arrested/Bailed: Joseph Gardener of Saddlers was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for driving under the influence of alcohol and for driving motor jeep without Drivers license and insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000) for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate Court on Thursday 5th October 2017.

    Arrested/Bailed: Antonio Browne of Poland, Conaree Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10.000 for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2nd October, 2017.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Ames Liburd of Stone Castle Tabernacle Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of possession of cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 ECD for his appearance at the District “B” Magistrate’s Court on Monday 2nd October 2017.
     
    Bailed: Shavon Hanley of Maynard Street Ponds Pasture who was arrested and charged for the offence of Battery on Police. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 for his appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on the Monday 2nd October 2017.
    Bailed: Orlando Browne of Jessup’s Village who was arrested for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, was granted bail in the sum of Five Thousands Eastern Caribbean Dollars ($5,000) for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on the 5th September 2017. 
     
    Bailed: Keithroy Freeman of St. Paul's Village who was charged for possession of firearm and ammunitions and possession of firearm with intent to endanger life, He was granted bail in the sum of $ 150,000 ECD for his appearance at the District “B” Magistrate’s Court on 2nd October 2017. 
     
    Bailed: Darren Caines of St. Paul's Village who was charged for possession of firearm and ammunitions and possession of firearm with intent to endanger life. He was granted bail in the sum of $ 150,000 ECD for his appearance at the District “B” Magistrate’s Court on 2nd October 2017. His travel document was also surrender. 
     
    Bailed: Alston Douglas of St. Paul's Village who was charged for possession of firearm and ammunitions and possession of firearm with intent to endanger life. He was granted bail in the sum of $ 150,000 ECD for his appearance at the District “B” Magistrate’s Court on 2nd October 2017. His travel document was also surrender. 

    COURT CONVICTIONS: 
    In Matters at the District: A” Magistrate's Court presided over by His Honour Mr. Benjamin and reported the Following Conviction:

    -Alphonso Archibald of St. Paul’s Village who was charged for Careless driving which occurred on 4th June 2016 at New Road, pleaded guilty and was fined $400.00 to be paid in  (2) two months or if in default serve (1) one month imprisonment .

    In Matters at the District “B” Magistrate’s Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hector the following convictions were reported:
     
    -Pearl Collins of Palmetto Point who was charged for Insulting language and Battery was fine of $300.00 ECD on each charge to be paid by the 30th September 2017 or if in default 30 days in imprisonment.
     
    -Valentine Paris of Phillip's Village who was charged for driving without license and Insurance was a fined $300.00 ECD on each charge to be paid by 15th September 2017 or if in default 30 days imprisonment.
     
    -Eugene Seeraj of Molyneaux who was charged for driving without Due Care and Attention was fined $500.00 ECD to be paid by 15th September 2017 or if in default 30 days imprisonment.
     
    -Ishan Gumbs of St. Paul's Village who was charged for possession of Cannabis was fined $1,500.00 ECD to be paid by 30th September 2017 or if in default 30 days imprisonment. 
     
    -Rohan Patrick of Tabernacle Village who was charged for possession of Cannabis and possession with intent to supply was sentenced to serve two (2) months imprisonment at hard labour. 

    In Matters at the District “C” Magistrate’s Court presided over by Her Honour Yasmine Clarke the following convictions were reported: 
     
    -Ellison Smithen of Stoney Grove was convicted and fined $800.00 to be paid in (1) one week or one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of Battery, if the sum is paid on time no conviction will be recorded.
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    House Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a number of House Breaking and Larceny that occurred during the period of this report in the following areas: Buck's Hill, Tuckett Street (Ponds Pasture), Bourke's Estate (Sandy Point), Lodge, Fortlands and  New Ponds Site

    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed number of Search Warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Roxborough Street (Newtown), St. Peters, Dieppe Bay, Sandy Point, Cotton Ground, Jessup Village, Canes Gardens, Clay Ghaut (Gingerland), Hanley's, Salt Pond Alley, Taylors Village, Conaree, Shadwell, East Park Range, Lower Monkey Hill, Old Road, Mad House Alley and Stapleton Village. The Warrants were executed in search of illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs, and instruments that can be used in criminal activity.       

    Abandoned Properties: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties; most recent searches were done in the following areas: Lower Thibou Ave, Upper Monkey Hill, Prickly Pear Alley, Phillips Village, Ponds Extension Newtown, Greenlands, Lagueritte, New Road Housing Project, Stapleton Village, East Street Newtown, Market Street, Dorset, McKnight, Challengers, Old Road, Carty Road, Trafalgar Village, Trinity, Malone Ave, Fiennes Ave, Nevis Street and St Johnston Village  

    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: A patrol of officers discovered and seized (692) Six Hundred and Ninety Two marijuana plants during the period of this report. These plants were discovered in the following areas: Romney Ground Sandy Point, Pond Hill and Godwin Ghaut. The plants were taken into police custody.
