White Oak Domino Competition results

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (September 3, 2011) - After a week of intense domino play, the inaugural C&C/ANGOSTURA sponsored WHITE OAK Domino competition came to a thrilling end on Friday 2nd September.

     

    The competition, which kicked off on Friday 27th August with Zone 1 matches at the Hard Wine bar, witnessed eight teams competing to advance to the semi-finals. A similar play off was held at Phil’s Bar in Fig Tree on Monday 29th August. Advancing from the two nights of play-off matches were teams Desroy Tate/Anthony Stead and Leroy Pitt/Bernard Browne from Zone 1 and Steve Fleming/Karl Francis and Kevin Powell/Tex Richards from Zone 2.

     

    In the semi-final matches held at Germaine’s Grocery and Bar at Douglas’ Estate on Friday 2nd September, Desroy Tate & Anthony Stead were the eventual winners for Zone 1 defeating Leroy Pitt & Bernard Browne 3 matches to 1 while for Zone 2, Steve Fleming & Karl Francis emerged as winners after defeating Kevin Powell & Tex Richards 3 matches to NIL in best of five matches.
     
    This set up the finals between Steve Fleming & Karl Francis VS Desroy Tate & Anthony Stead. The eventual winners were Steve Fleming & Karl Francis who convincingly defeated their opponents 3 matches to NIL in a best of five encounter.

     

    The winners, Steve Fleming & Karl Francis, will journey to St. Vincent where they will compete in Regional Finals, to be held on the 17th September, for a grand prize stake of EC$10,000.

     

    The Managing Director and staff of the C&C Group of Companies extend congratulations to Steve Fleming & Karl Francis and wish them all success in the St. Vincent leg of matches.
