    – The five men who were arrested on Jan. 17 for possession of firearms, ammunition cocaine and cannabis were once again denied bail.

The men, who hail from St. Thomas, USVI, are brothers Zebedee Callwood Schulterbrant (26) and John Alexander Schulterbrant (28), also Rashede Lewis (28), Clifton Johnson (38) and Clinton Makebo Pickering (30).

The five accused appeared before the magistrate’s court for the second time on Jan. 30 to answer charges of possession of two 9mm handguns, a 40 caliber handgun, 39 rounds of 9mm explosives/ammunition, 82 grams of cannabis and 1.2 grams of cocaine.

The Crown-Prosecutor told the court police had received information that the men were in the BVI for the purpose of causing bodily harm to persons on the island.

Acting on the information, armed detectives of the Anti-Drugs and Violence Crime Task Force and Armed Special Forces Unit of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force conducted a stop and search operation.   ~~Adz:Right~~

Along with finds of guns, ammunition, explosives and drugs on the men and at their hotel room, the search also revealed four black ski-masks.

They are currently held at Her Majesty’s Prison at Balsum Ghut and their case has been adjourned for February 7 and 12.
