Bio for Miss Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Contestant Keivanée Lake

Anguilla - Keivanée Lake
Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, December 14th, 2011 -- Keivanée P. Lake was born on March 7th 1995 in the island of St. Thomas but was raised her whole life in her island home Anguilla. Even though Keivanée showed a keen interest in performing from as young as age five by singing in church, she initially aspired to become a teacher.

Upon her entry to secondary school at age twelve Keivanée’s interest in theatre arts was sparked and she joined the popular performing arts group, “Klassique Performing Arts &Dance Academy of Anguilla” which she continues to be a part of to date.

Her exposure to the arts then extended to theatre through various workshops and this in turn cemented her decision to opt to do theatre as a course of study at CXC level when she was recently promoted to fifth form. She now aspires one day to become an internationally renowned recording artist. In 2007, Keivanée entered the Prince& Princess pageant in Anguilla and placed 1st runner up.

This year Keivanée entered the Miss CCB Talented Teen competition and was victorious by capturing the Crown and also winning three of the four adjudged segments. Keivanée is a very active and driven young person and also plays football for Anguilla.

This vibrant young woman also enjoys singing in her spare time and her personal motto is “it is not important to be simply known by many, but to be known by many as being you”. Keivanée wishes to use her reign to tackle issues of self-image and literacy which many young persons struggle with.
