Press Release (LIAT)

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, July 04th, 2012 – Prospective travellers in Antigua now have another option for purchasing tickets to LIAT’s 21 destinations.

Corporate Communications Manager Desmond Brown said the airline has opened a ticketing desk at its headquarters at the Sealy Building on Airport Road in Antigua, to complement its ticketing desk at the V.C. Bird International Airport.

“This new desk offers customers a higher level of customer service as large groups and charter bookings can be better accommodated as well as customers with special needs such as unaccompanied minors,” Mr. Brown said.

“While we have seen a major shift towards telephone and internet-based bookings in recent times, we still continue to have large numbers of persons who prefer face to face contact when making their travel arrangements.

“The additional ticketing desk will serve to cut the waiting time for those persons who traditionally go to the airport to purchase their tickets,” he added.

Mr. Brown said in addition to booking on-line at www.liat.com; via the telephone from Antigua – 1-268-480-5582, toll free from the rest of the Caribbean – 1-888-844-5428 and from Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands – 1-866-549-5428; and at the ticketing desks, customers can also make their bookings through travel agents.

The new ticketing desk will be open to the public during regular business hours – 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. The ticketing desk is located on the southern end of the Sealy Building with the entrance facing Sir George Walter Highway.

Mr. Brown added that the new ticketing desk has also been a welcome addition for LIAT employees to finalise arrangements for rebate travel and also to make bookings for travel on LIAT’s partner airlines.
