BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – COMING off  high praises, after hosting a successful performance, the Shehkinah Dance Theatre of Nevis, will give a repeat performance this Friday, August 3 at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC) at 7:00 p.m.

The group is a Christian based dance group with members ranging from ages 3 to 25 years and is under the leadership of Tamicia Lestrade and Diana Pemberton.

For the past five years, the group has been providing a refreshing display of dance talent on Nevis.

“Each session starts with devotions. The group not only focuses on teaching dance but a holistic development of its members by instilling positive values and morals,” Pemberton said.

Their debut performance at NEPAC was said to be nothing shy of excellence when it was held on July 14, held under the theme ‘Celebration: A Journey Through the Nations with God’s Creations’.

“The dancers took the audience on a voyage filled with excitement and flair.

From the Riveting African numbers to the colorful Spanish flamboyance, the audience was captivated throughout the production,” she said.

Guest performances included a song by Carmella Lawrence and dance performances by Sonji Isaac and Shanice Esdaille of St Kitts.

Some of the future plans for the group include the hosting of dance workshops for its members and venturing to other Caribbean islands.
