BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating the death of a male resident of Dunn’s Cottage in Lower Cayon who was shot this evening (Mar. 26) while on his way home.

The name of the deceased was given as Miguel ‘Nino’ Byron, who is said to be 32 years old.

According to information reaching this media house, Byron was walking on his way home after playing a game of basketball at Maynard’s Court when he was shot in the vicinity of Yearwood and Back Streets, Lower Cayon.

According to a police press release, at about 9:26 p.m. officers of the Cayon Police Station responded to a shooting incident and had found Byron lying on the side of the road with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his body.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by District Medical Officer Dr. Vance Gilbert.

“Anyone who may have information pertaining to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). Remember, you do not have to give your name, address or telephone number, and you may be eligible to receive a reward,” the release read.
