BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ARE you ready to hear who is part of the line-up of entertainers expected to perform on the upcoming 17th annual St. Kitts Music Festival?
Well, next Friday (April. 26), the names of some of the artistes would be revealed to the public.
And finally, anxious fans and music lovers of these singers and musicians yet to be unveiled would surely get their entertainment taste buds whetted in countdown to the annual extravaganza.
Last night (April. 17), the new ‘face’ of the St. Kitts Music Festival Local Marketing Committee,
Empress Winnielle ‘Tammy’ Pereira, was a special guest on ZIZ’s weekly television programme, The People’s Show, with hosts Pinocchio and Sweet Sister Sensia.
She talked about next Friday’s event, dubbed ‘Music Festival Jump Off’, which is scheduled to take place at the Independence Square from 3:00 p.m.
“Some of the artistes’ names will definitely be released at the Music Festival Jump Off. Yes, we are ready and we hope everyone else is ready for the festive vibe that begins on the 26th for this year’s sweet 17th annual St. Kitts Music Festival.”
She informed that the ‘Music Festival Jump Off’ event would begin with a party.
“We will begin the party with open mic, where folks are encouraged to freestyle; be it poetry, singing, comedy or any talent they would like to share on the mic.”
Entertainment would also be provided by Tombstone International and the Royalties Band featuring Mimi, Rolhensha and Mick Stokes.
Lots of prizes and St. Kitts Music Festival ticket giveaways would be an exciting feature at the event.
Pereira anticipates that this year’s production would be very festive.
“This year is going to be very, very festive. The St. Kitts Music Festival has a reputation for having phenomenal performances by the acts we sign. It’s been 16 years and counting into our 17th. It will be no different…excellent and intoxicating. So, save the dates - June 27th 28th and 29th!”
As it relates to hyping up the citizens and residents of the Federation about this year’s festivity through the media, Pereira explained that she, alongside Johan Kelly, “who was last year’s ‘face’ of the Local Marketing Committee, will be spreading all the good vibes on television and radio to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis”.
Other members of the Committee, which is being chaired by Kirah Griffin, are Darryl Charles, Bjorn Bassue, Diego Spanner, Dr. Marcus Natta and Tasha Hendrickson.
