Reggae Night at Sprat Net

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – VIBES and more vibes! Music filled the air giving way for some mellow moods with sparks of excitement. The bass, the drums, the keyboards, they were all very clear…I knew from that moment this night would be permeated with irie vibes for everyone to share.

SKNVibes highlights a special evening at Sprat Net entitled ‘Sugar City Reggae Experience’, which is hosted every Wednesday night with Live entertainment by the Limitless Band.

Situated at the entrance to Old Road by the waterfront, this island’s hotspot called Sprat Net Bar & Grill treats its patrons to hours of great music, delicious food and access to a well-stocked bar that caters to pleasing their customer’s desires.

That night smooth and rhythmic reggae music filled the air as Limitless performed tunes from great Reggae artistes such as Richie Spice, Freddy McGregor, Steel Pulse, Tarrus Riley, Chronixx, Luciano and the late Masud Sadiki, among others.

That’s right! This tune, ‘Count your Blessings’ by Masud Sadiki, brought such great feelings to the people as they screamed in excitement during the band’s performance, bringing a few to their feet in dance, whilst others simply sang along.

For those of us who loved, knew or had known of Masud, playing this tune seemed perfect as Sunday (June 2) marked one year since his passing. Limitless Band was one of the many great accomplishments of Masud Sadiki, being the founder, and this night in particular also came to fruition because of him.

Sugar City Reggae Experience has no entry fee, except on the nights that feature overseas artistes. One customer named Diane was celebrating her friend’s birthday alongside her girlfriends. Diane regularly spends time at Sprat Net, especially Wednesday nights.

She said, “The customer service is good! Everyone interacts, whether black or white, and it’s really nice here.”

Live music, dancing, eating, drinking, chatter and laughter were ever-present and the vibe was truly in sync with what a perfect night out is like.

So, whenever you get into a mood of wanting to be in an atmosphere that is soothing and calm, a place where you can get your ‘reggae fix’, simply get away from the hustle and bustle during the week and journey to Sprat Net in Old Road, where the motto is: “We Only Eat The Ones We Catch.”

Take it from us at SKNVibes, on a Wednesday night, Sprat Net is surely the place to be if you are looking for complete niceness.
