Press Release

QUEENS, NY: On Sunday July 28th, see Jamaica’s best comedian, Oliver Samuels, in his newest and best production “Embassy Saga.” The entire NY TrI-state area will have an opportunity to watch the veteran comedian in action as he combines laughter, suspense, and drama all on one stage.

Embassy Saga takes us into the home of Ezekiel, Miriam, Zacky and Rachel who have just moved into an upscale neighbourhood called Embassy Heights. Ezekiel has just return from the United States and re-joins his family. Embassy Saga follows each one as they prepare to make another step together…or not.

Oliver Adolphus Samuels plays Ezekiel, a retired first rate mechanic, who worked for the United States Government at Guantanamo Bay. Ezekiel is ambitious and in an effort to make life easier for his family, he decided they should all migrate. His daughter Rachel is more than excited to go, while Zacky is cautious for several reasons. His wife however seems to be rejecting the idea all together for reasons he cannot understand. What a saga!

Samuels himself has said "I can seriously state that this is one of the best productions the Jamaican Diaspora will ever see“, and the rave reviews has proven this to be true.

Also, this is not Samuels’ only achievement for 2013, as he will be celebrating his 65th birthday in November. He continues to wear the crown as ‘King of comedy’ in Jamaica as he has written a play that’s arguably more interesting than his last production, Who a Di Don, which was the most-watched play for 2012.

“Insiders predict that Embassy Saga will be even bigger here in the USA.

Embassy Saga mixes suspense, drama and comedy. The audience will feel at times that they are watching a reality show, but nothing will prepare them for the dramatic end.
