BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REIGNING National Carnival Queen 18-year-old Zinga Imo is currently in Antigua, where she is expected to represent the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts-Nevis in the 52nd annual Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show.

The pageant’s preliminary sessions are slated to take place tomorrow (July 31) leading up to the official show that would feature 10 competitors at Carnival City at the Antigua Recreation Grounds on Friday, August 2.

The other contestants are Miss USA Marsha Thompson, Miss Barbados Alicia Trotman, Miss Anguilla Taitu Goodwin, Miss Dominican Republic Rosa Martinez, Miss Guyana Ayana Harris, Miss Montserrat Kadija Furlonge, Miss Dominica Leslassa Armour Shillingford, Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines Shara George, and Miss Trinidad and Tobago Breige Wilson.

Today (July 30), via her FaceBook fan page, Imo revealed that she would be participating as contestant number five.

For the Miss Carival Pageant, which was held last month in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Imo placed First Runner-up from a field of 10.

Notably, Miss Dominica Leslassa Armour Shillingford won the Pageant and was adjudged First Runner-up in the Miss Caribbean World Pageant which was held in Tortola, BVI in May.

No doubt, Shillingford and Imo are being looked at as two of the strongest competitors in this show as they vie for the crown in yet another pageant.

The annual Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show is one of the most anticipated events in Antigua’s Carnival.
