BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN an effort to bring more excitement to the game of basketball in the twin-island Federation, the St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Basketball Association will be hosting two weekends of back-to-back basketball games.
The first weekend kicked off last night (Nov. 29) with a Junior Division All Star game where the top players from all junior teams throughout the Federation came together and formed two teams to battle for supremacy.
Today (Nov. 30) would see the Under-25 National Squad Exhibition Game taking place at 8:00 p.m. In this game, the Under-25 National Team would go up against the Blue Devils.
The final night of the All Star Weekend would feature the Premier and A Divisions Games taking the form of an East vs. West All Star Showdown.
Members from the Bird Rock Uprisers, Horsford’s Ghetto Roots, RAMS Hitters and Horsford’s Rootsie on the eastern end would be paying against the iRep Challengers Exodus, Cotton Ground Rebels, Ghaut Bucs and LIME Fig Tree Revellers in the west.
Today will also feature the finals of a Three vs. Three Female Knockout Tournament at 6:30 p.m. Recognition would be given to those persons who had outstanding performances throughout the seasons for the past two years.
Next weekend is dubbed Sugar Mas Basketball Cup Weekend and would feature the inaugural three-game Home and Away series, where the two island's National Teams will be going up against each other.
December 6 would see the first game being played at Basketball City, Basseterre, St. Kitts. The game on December 7 would be played in Charlestown, Nevis while the third, if necessary, would be played in Basketball City, Basseterre, St. Kitts.
The three games begin at 8:00 p.m.
