Football Fans party to Nevis with SKNFA

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - Hundreds of football fans packed the ‘Prince Devonte J’ - the Party Boat - on Saturday (Feb. 8) as the St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) hosted a Premier Division Game on Nevis.

With a well-stocked bar, the sweet vibrations of the Road March Champions - the Small Axe Band and the boat filled to capacity, the patrons onboard partied the entire trip to Nevis which lasted a little over one hour.

The band - referred to as “the sweetest band in the world” - showed the patrons why it is still going strong after being around for so many years.

The multiple-time Road March Champs, along with some help from the seas rocked the boat blazing out many of their hits, some vintage and some more modern.

On arrival at the Charlestown Pier shortly before 7:00p.m. the passengers disembarked the vessel and headed to the Elquemedo Park where the Rams Village Superstars were scheduled to play S L Horsfords St. Paul’s United.

    The return

Following the game the patrons then made their way back to the Charlestown Pier with Dj Metal already belting out track after track.

Departing Nevis shortly after 10:00 p.m. a wide range of genres was reverberating through both decks of the boat, a small shower being unable to thwart the session and the enthusiasm of some.

After rocking the vessel for the first half of the the return, Dj Metal stepped aside for the Small Axe Band to bring the trip to a climax.

However the event was marred by a spew of violent incidents which left one individual nursing a wound to the head after he was struck by a glass bottle during the debacle.

Following the incident the authorities stopped the partying for the last 20 minutes of the trip.

Despite ending in disappointment majority of the patrons voiced their satisfaction with the event with one even calling on the SKNFA to host events of this nature on a monthly basis.
