BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CONSIDERED one of the most controversial dancehall superstars of the century, Vybz Kartel has denied any knowledge of  murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, of which his has been accused.

According to the Jamaican Observer, Kartel - who is accused of Williams’ murder - addressed the judge at the Home Circuit Court in Kingston, Jamaica in an unsworn statement declaring his innocence.

“My Lord, my hands are clean of Mr. Clive Williams’ blood,” Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer told the court, adding that the police had conspired against him,” the observer reported.

“If Mr. Williams is dead, I sent no one to kill Clive Williams nor did I do it myself,” Kartel said in his statement.

The media entity also reported that Kartel further claimed that National Security Minister, Peter Bunting’s taking his music to the USA and declaring it to be promoting scamming, and also declaring him as one of the four things that are mashing up Jamaica, was prejudicial to his case.

The Dancehall superstar is jointly charged with fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell also known as Shawn Storm, Kahira Jones, Shane Williams and Andre St. John for the August 16, 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.
