BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ANTHONY MOSES DAVIS, better known by his stage name ‘Beenie Man’, will now join The Voice’s 2013 winner - Tessanne Chin - as part of the lineup for the upcoming 2014 St. Kitts Music Festival.
A press release issued by the St. Kitts Ministry of Tourism today (Mar. 13) confirmed that the Grammy Award-winning artist, will perform at the 18th annual St Kitts Music Festival which would be held from Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, June 28, 2014.
The ministry also stated that “one of Beenie Man’s biggest local fans, St. Kitts Minister of Tourism & International Transport, Senator Ricky Skerritt, said he is expecting a great performance from the star”.
“I expect that Beenie Man will do what he has done every time he has performed in St. Kitts in the past – electrify the crowd and make an indelible mark on the event,” Senator Skerritt said.
Beenie Man has dominated the dancehall scene since his number one hits “Who Am I" and “Romie”.
Today the musician - who hails from birth place of reggae music, Jamaica - continues to be one of dancehall’s most successful artist, and has done many collaborations with international artistes producing hits such as “Feel It Boy” with Janet Jackson and “Girls Dem Sugar” featuring Mya.
The St. Kitts Music Festival features a wide range of music genres including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music.
The annual Music Festival has features a number of internationally-renowned personalities including John Legend, Lionel Richie, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band and Brian McKnight.
