By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH just under six week remaining for the Lime Miss Black San 2014 Pageant, the ladies are hard at training and practice for the big event on April 20.

However, let us get to know some things about the six contestants.

    Delegate No.1 - Unoma Allen

The mature and confidently beautiful delegate Number One, Unoma Allen, is the senior of the vivacious bunch, also the most composed and well-respected by her fellow contestants. The native of St. Peter’s said that she lives every day to the fullest.

Allen, who is a Marketing and Public Manager, said that she has keen interest in health, fitness, calypso music and the performing arts.

“It is believed that as women we are the weaker sex, and this is something I don’t believe in.  As women we are to be poised, determined, focused on goals and, most importantly, being life-centered on God.”

    Delegate No.2 – Nakilha Watson

Who said a girl cannot be beautiful and smart? For 19-year-old Nakilha Whatson, this beauty has big dreams of one day enrolling at an international university to pursue her dream of becoming a Psychologist.

The pride of Molineux, who currently attends the Clarence Fitzroy Brown College, said that she has an interest in motivational speaking, modelling and dancing.

“I want to help young people who are suffering from depression, because I know what it is to suffer from that sickness. I also want to volunteer at a number of children homes across the Federation.”

    Delegate No.3 – Cherissa Maynard

Coming all the way from Butlers Village in Nevis, the stunning and very tall Cherissa Maynard has her eyes set to one day blaze the catwalk at a future Victoria Secret Fashion Show. If she does, she will be the first woman from the Federation to achieve that goal.

The Nevisian, who is no stranger to pageantry, said that in her spare time she does modelling, going to the gym, body building and hiking.

“My advice to young people out there is to practice safe sex or, if you are already having sex, abstain. Remember, always use a condom and protect yourselves.”

    Delegate No.4 – Desiree Herbert

Out of the six hopefuls, Desiree Herbert can be classified as the most outspoken delegate. But this collective individual said she lives life to the fullest everyday and is “open to anything”.

Herbert, who is also no stranger to pageantry, is a Dance Choreographer and a Bartender. The multitalented woman said that she has an interest in “a lot of things”.

“I think I would not do an international pageant in the future, but I have a great passion for fashion; especially European designers.”

    Delegate No.5 – Royisha Demming

Hometown (Sandy Point) beauty 19-year-old Royisha Demming said that when she is away from the glitz and glamour, she finds herself listening to music. The employee of Best Buy said that dancing, singing and modelling are just some of her many interests.

“I would encourage youths to do the right things. If I had an opportunity to work with youths in empowering them, I would have them get involved with extracurricular activities and after school classes.”

    Delegate No.6 – Nicola Clarke

Delegate Number Six Nicola Clarke has an eye for justice, as she is involved in Paralegal Justice; also her main profession. This sophisticatedy elegant young woman said that while she is away from the law, she is engaged in poetry and dance during her free time.

    Clarke also loves football.

“My journey so far in the Lime Miss Black San Competition has been a great experience. I got an opportunity to meet these women and we have become like best friends…The most exciting part of it all is definitely the publicity.”

The confident and intelligent bevy of beauties will be competing for the title of this year’s Miss Lime Black San on April 20. The title is currently held by 21-year-old Patricia Clarke.
