Canada Visa Application Changes

    March 24th, 2014  --  The procedure to apply for a temporary resident visa at the High Commission of Canada in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago has changed. 

    As of Tuesday, April 1, 2014, applicants may submit applications using one of the following two methods:

    1- Visa Applications Centers (VAC): 
     
    a. Applicants may submit applications through the two Visa Application Centers (VAC) in Port of Spain, Trinidad or Georgetown, Guyana. 
     
    b. Applicants who are unable to submit their application in person to the VAC office may courier their applications to one of the
    VAC offices:
     
     
     
    2- Online (e-app):
     
    a. Applicants may submit their applications online via www.cic.gc.ca
     
    b. Persons applying via an online application do not need to submit their passport until processing is complete and they are requested to do so. 

    Effective Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the High Commission of Canada will no longer provide in person and drop box facilities for submission of applications.

    BIOMETRICS: Citizens of certain countries are required to submit biometrics along with their applications. If you are required to submit biometrics, you should visit the VAC in person well in advance of your intended travel date. To see if you are required to provide biometrics, please visit www.cic.gc.ca

    OFFICIALS: Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Special Passports can submit their applications directly at the High Commission during opening hours. 

    Immigration Appointments: The High Commission of Canada to Trinidad and Tobago will be open to clients by appointments only. A letter of invitation/interview convocation letter is required to gain entry.
