Couples Game, Charitable Ball among new changes in Black San 2014

By: Entertainment Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THIS year’s Black San Bang-A-Lang promises to be more exciting as organisers have taken steps to add a number of new events to the community festival.

Speaking with SKNVibes Entertainment, an official of the Organising Committee informed that one of the events is called a Couples Game, which is aimed at highlighting how well a spouse knows his or her partner.

“This is actually the first time we are doing this and the registration for the game will close by next week. So, it’s still opened for desirous couples who wish to be part of it,” the official said.

Previous games, such as The Price is Right and Minute to Win It, will also be featured at the Game Show Night, but this year persons who enter the venue could register and stand a chance to win a number of prizes up for grabs.

Another new initiative is the venue for the launching of this year’s community festival, which is traditionally held at the Sandy Point Hard Court.

“This year we decided to move the opening of the festival to the Fig Tree community in Sandy Point for the first time,” the official said.

Additionally, instead of the normal flamboyant costumes for the Las’ Lap Parade, the Committee has since launched a T-shirt Mas’ in an effort to reduce the cost of costumes.

“We are doing things differently this year to basically boast participation for all events,” the official explained.

The festival’s signature event, The Black Ball, will this year be a charitable occasion aimed at raising awareness about Domestic Violence in the Federation, and all proceeds will be donated to a charitable organisation.

Blazing music bands and the Federation’s top performers will take centre stage for the SKNVibes Knockshore Night scheduled for April 19, and among them are Infamus, Highlight and Colin Wyatt.
