What people in the street say about Music Festival 2014

By: Entertainment Reporter, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS St. Kitts prepares for the 18th Edition of its three-day Music Festival, a number of artistes have confirmed their participation including Tessane Chin, winner of last year’s USA popular singing competition The Voice.

But what do people have to say about this.

With just two months away for the Music Festival, SKNVibes Entertainment took to the streets of downtown Basseterre to get people’s opinion of the annual event and also their expectations.

Question: Music Festival is just two months away, what are your expectations of it and, if you had a choice, which artiste you would like to see onstage?

Labourer: “For the past couple years it ain’t really making sense. Of course we had some artistes from the Caribbean region and the US, but that was back then. Now is a little different, because not many of we own people getting exposure.”

Accountant: “I have big expectations for Music Festival this year. It’s been a bit boring of lately but I guess the Organising Committee is going take all these things into consideration and try to improve this year. I would love to see John Legend this year.”

Entrepreneur: “Me ain’t really following it, so I can’t tell you who coming exactly. But what I could tell you is that the last one I been to was good. I plan on going this one, so I hope we going to see something different this year.”

Salesman: “I made a suggestion some years back to one of the organisers that we should have one night of our local performers, and another night we have the international artistes perform. I don’t think we should keep making the festival more of an international stage; let’s promote our own too.”

Musician: “Music Festival been about long and is where some of these same big bands and artistes launch out themselves and made St. Kitts proud. We got a lot of new singers coming out, and exposure like this could be good for them.”

Electrician: “If I had a choice I would like to see Infamus. He did a really good job at Carnival International Night and he’s a really good entertainer. The Music Festival to me needs to improve because in recent years it ain’t getting the support it used to get. But let us wait and see what will happen this year.”
