The alleged vessel in which the marijuana was found
By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOLLOWING the discovery of two compressed bales of marijuana in a vessel at the Marina at Port Zante, the alleged driver of the vehicle that delivered the illegal substance has since been arrested.

According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David, the driver of the vehicle, who delivered the bales of marijuana, was unable to leave the area after the delivery and was intercepted and subsequently arrested.

David told SKNVibes that for 2014 there have been a number of drug busts in the Federation but yesterday’s operation was the first to be brought to the public’s attention, due to the manner in which it occurred.

The PRO was however unable to disclose exactly how much both bales weighed and what the street value of the marijuana is.

He was also unable to confirm if any other arrests were made and who owns the vessel.

Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
