More upgrades for sports facilities

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TWO more of the Federation’s major sports facilities are set to be given facelifts, according to the Minister of Sports Hon. Glen Phillip.

     

    After significant upgrades of the Warner Park Cricket Stadium and grand plans for the upgrading of basketball that will see the facility equipped with a roof, Minister Phillip also promised that the Silver Jubilee Stadium would be sporting a new Jumbotron when the Federation would be hosting the OECS Championships in June.

    In an Interview will SKNVibes Sports, Phillip announced that work is expected to take place at the Pam Tyson Netball Complex and the tennis court located in Warner Park.

    “We want two give it a facelift of course in terms of getting it painted. We are also looking at the possibility of getting the tennis court resurfaced and renovated. There is a number of works we are trying to complete at this time.”

    He also gave an update on the process and highlighted some of the work set to take place.

    “In terms of the tennis, we have just received the estimates to complete the work. In terms of the Pam Tyson Complex, we want to look at the lighting and do some work, and in terms of the court there is no work that is needed but we will be improving the ambiance.”

    Phillip also stated that over the next few weeks work on those projects would be completed.
