BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Silver Jubilee Stadium in St. Kitts and Nevis will be the host venue for the 2015 CARIFTA Games as a result of The Turks and Caicos Islands withdrawing their bid.
According to a report by Anthony Foster of Trackalerts.com, the event would be in Sugar City, St. Kitts while the 2016 edition is to be staged in Grenada.
St. Kitts and Nevis last hosted the CARIFTA Games in 2008.
In what could be considered a surprise, Turks and Caicos Islands, St. Lucia and The Bahamas had submitted Letters of Intent for 2016, but St. Lucia pulled out to support Grenada.
Some upgrading work is scheduled to take place at the Silver Jubilee Stadium with the Minister of Sports Hon. Glen Phillip promising that a Jumbotron would be installed at the facility later this year.
