BASSETERRE St. Kitts, June 6th, 2014 -- College and university students returning home on summer vacation will have the opportunity to work as interns. The Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) has designed the Student Internship Program (SIP) to provide on-the-job-training for students who are currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree full-time at a college or university overseas.
Funded by the SIDF and implemented in collaboration with various businesses, SIP will assist students to gain professional work experience in their field of interest and obtain needed finances for the upcoming semester.
Students must log on to the SIDF website (www.sknsidf.org) to read the eligibility criteria and procedures then apply via the portal. Once their application has been accepted, they will be directed to make contact with the businesses where they wish to be hired as interns. Businesses which are interested in offering internships must also apply online.
The internship period runs from June 10 to August 29, 2014 and students may apply anytime during that period. Eligible students are encouraged to participate in SIP which aims to help them achieve their educational and career goals.
